South African Insurance Companies are watching what you post on Social Media
South Africans have been adviced to be wary of what they publish on social media as posts are being tracked by insurance companies. Executive Head of Hippo.co.za, Vera Nagtegaal said that the reason why Insurance companies are tracking social media posts of their Client is because people are very open on social media hence Insurance companies are using it as an altar native avenue to investigate claims.
Insurance companies in South Africa can refuse a claim if the social media post of an Insured who suffers loss contradicts what he or she has said happened in their claims form.
