NUMBER OF POTENTIAL BANKRUPTS IN RUSSIA 9 TIMES HIGHER THAN NUMBER OF REGISTERED ONES

MOSCOW, October 18 (RAPSI) – The number of potential bankrupts among Russian citizens is 9 times higher than the number of people who have already been declared bankrupt, the United Credit Bureau’s statement reads.

According to the Bureau, as of October 1, there were about 739,000 Russian citizens qualified as potential bankrupts and their average debt reached 1.66 million rubles ($25,300). At the same time, the number of actual bankrupts exceeded 80,000.

During the period from January to September 2018 there were 30,368 citizens, who initiated bankruptcy procedures, that is 47% more than in the same period of 2017.
