The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has disclosed that Nigeria’s Pension Fund Asset (PFA) now stands at N8.232 Trillion in the second quarter against N7.943 Trillion recorded earlier in the year.
The NBS figures was made public in its Pension Asset and Membership Data for second quarter report.
According to the report, the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) bonds have the highest weight percentage of 49.08 percent of the total Pension Fund Asset. It said this was closely followed by Treasury bills with 20.76% weight and Domestic ordinary shares with 8.62% Weight while Green bonds has the least with 0.09% weight.
According to the buruea 8, 136, 202 workers were registered under the Pension Scheme in the period under review with participants with the age distribution of 30 to 39 having the highest percentage of contribution.
