NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT TO CONTINUE TO FUND FIRE SERVICE WITH INSURANCE LEVY ON PROPERTY.

Insurance laws is undoubtedly universal. While the Nigerian government through the national insurance commission (NAICOM) is just waking up to its statutory collaborations and contribution to the finding of the federal fire service the new Zealand government through its department of internal affairs has decided to focus its review of the fire and emergency new Zealand’s (FENZ) funding model on improving the insurance based model in the FENZ Act.

The department of internal affairs is currently looking at either the insurance based model or the property based model which will involve property owners paying a levy based on property data such as property’s value, size or use.
