The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) is pulling all stunts to promote micro insurance afresh.
In its renewed drive, the commission is tapping into the network of the Nigerian Governors Forum to further drive Insurance Penetration.
In a recent forum, the commissioner for Insurance Alhaji Mohammed Kari said that he is taking measures to drive insurance penetration at community levels by promoting a robust micro insurance framework and encouraging companies to leverage on ICT to sell insurance to the rural, poor and low-income earners.
The renewed vigor according to Kari, is as a result of the Strategic Policy of the Commission in 2018 which is essentially targeted at deepening the market and sustaining all they have achieved in the past years under the Market Development and Restructuring Initiative (MDRI) which was launched in 2009.
The Commission says they are getting into the second phase of the MDRI having achieved modest success with the first phase.
