Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode said that Lagos State will begin its Health Insurance Scheme in the first quarter of 2018.
According to him, there is a law that allows the state to have its Health Insurance Scheme which is targeted at the most needy and poor who can’t afford ordinary health care.
Speaking at a forum recently, the governor said, “we believe that if we pull the resources of every other person in the state together, those who can’t afford will be able to have a chance to access healthcare which is the desire of most notable people”.
He said they will do everything possible to make sure that the Health Insurance starts early next year.
The project will allow people living in the state irrespective of tribe have a sense of inclusion which is one of the basic principles of good governance.
