ITALY INSURANCE ASSOCIATION JOIN CALLS FOR GOVERNMENT BACKED INSURANCE SOLUTION IN THE FACE OF THE PANDEMIC.

The risk and insurance management association of Italy (Anra) is set to work with the National insurance association (Ania) to press the Italian government to create a state-backed insurance facility to help both small and big businesses cope with future health crises and other risk that are likely to affect commercial insurance such as the covid-19 pandemic.

The risk and insurance management association believes that there is need for the Italian government to create a state-backed reinsurance facility similar to the caisse-lentrale de reassurance in france to ensure greater resilience within the economy in the event of future crises with the same magnitude as covid-19.

Anra’s call for action comes on the heels of similar associations in Europe calling and working with their government to develop such facilities.
