GLOBAL MARINE INSURANCE PREMIUMS CONTINUE TO FALL

Global Marine Underwriting Premiums fell by 9 per cent in 2016 to $27.5 billion according to the latest report on Marine Insurance released by the International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI).

The hull sector saw a 10 per cent drop in Premium income to $7 billion, while the Cargo sector dropped by 6 per cent to $15 billion.

It should be noted that global marine insurance premiums have been on the downward slide since 2015.
