GLOBAL INSURANCE M&As DECLINE IN FIRST HALF SAYS CLYDE & CO REPORT

Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) worldwide in the Insurance Industry have continued to decline, reaching a two-year low according to Clyde & Co.

The law firm states that increased regulation and political uncertainty are acting as a brake on transactions.

According to the Clyde & Co growth report mid-year update, there were 170 deals in the first six months of 2017, compared to 186 in 2016.

The report states that activity was down in Europe and Asia but up in the Americas, the Middle East and Africa.
