CATASTROPHE- INSURANCE LOSSES HIT RECORD HIGH

Extreme weather, hurricanes sent global claims to a record high last year.
Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria pushed economic losses for insurers to a record $144 billion last year, according to SwissRe.
Wildfires in California, thunderstorms, windstorms and other severe weather events in the U.s and around the world contributed to claims.
