Former Commonwealth Secretary – General Chief Emeka Anyaoku has decried the lack of Insurance Patronage amongst Small and Medium Scale Enterprises in Nigeria. Speaking as the Chairman Guest of Honour at the University of the New Brand Identity of IBN Insurance Brokers, Chief Anyaoku said “that while Multinational Companies operating in the country have embraced Insurance to manage their risks, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises who need protection of their assets the most are yet to embrace Insurance. He therefore called on the Insurance Operators to work closely with governments at all levels to ensure enforcement of the compulsory Insurances in the interest of Nigerians. Chief Anyaoku also called on the Insurance Operators to intensify their awareness creation drive so that more people will understand the benefits of Insurance as a Protection Mechanism.
