Insurance operators in Africa must be willing to co-operate more than ever before to underwrite big ticket risks.
This was the advice of Yaw Sarfo Marfo, Honourable Senior Minister Ghana when he declared the 45th African Insurance Organisation Conference and General Assembly open at the Labadi beach Hotel, Accra Ghana.
According to him, the use of technology should make risk sharing easier than yesterday.
“Unless you all come togethr and co-operate, more businesses will continue to leave Africa to the developed markets of Europe and America. If you co-operate more either as ECOWAS or at larger continental level, you will have adequate capacity to underwrite some of these big risks in the Oil and Gas sectors where the continent is recording huge capital flights”.
